Kenneth Brian Associates are recruiting for an amazing company based in Clapham Junction who due to growth are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be qualified or at the latter stages of their studies and will be looking to progress whilst the company continues to flourish.
Main Duties:
- Ensure AP/AR processes are fulfilled accurately and efficiently
- Financial Operations processes - continuous improvement focus - using automation to improve quality and productivity
- Review and challenge financial reporting to ensure accuracy
- Review monthly management accounts and report variances against budgets, instruct corrective action as required
- Ensure accuracy of balance sheets and statutory cashflows
- Mange European audits and liaise with auditors as required
- European daily and monthly cashflow management & forecasting
- Manage and enhance local financial processes to drive productivity and quality of outputs
- Manage tax and VAT compliance
- Business Partnering European teams to drive business growth
- Rigorous cost control in European entities
- Assist with preparation of budgets
- Liaise with banks and other suppliers on financial matters
- Manage customer finance queries promptly and resolve conflicts as the point of escalation
- Credit check and assess new customer prospects & deals to ensure commercial viability
- Attend customer review meetings as required to support on finance discussions
- Support BD and account management teams with ad hoc reporting and analysis to support clients discussions
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and act as the conduit between finance and business stakeholders
- Escalate financial and commercial risks to stakeholders, along with options to mitigate
- Act as a Business Partner to European Leadership Team and advise on financial implications of decisions
- Distil complex financial data and analysis into simple, digestible messages to help business leaders make great decisions
- Work with internal teams (eg legal, IT, HR) to ensure business compliance is met and processes are executed effectively
- Work effectively with Finance Team in Global Support Centre to improve AP/AR and GL processes
About You:
- Qualified/finalist (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Strong Excel skills (VBA - advantageous)
- MS Office suite
- 3+ years managing a small finance department or as a finance manager in a medium-larger organisation
- Line management
- Experience dealing directly with clients, especially conflict resolution
- Limited travel abroad (1-3 times a year for a 1-2 days at a time) - required
